Road Trip to Alaska | Illinois/Missouri | Alaska Wedding, Lifestyle, and Portrait Photographer

I'm not really one to put a lot of words along with my photos, but I'll try my best to do better in elaborating on our road trip from Georgia to Alaska!  For our trip we planned out most of our stops and spots we wanted to see.  Clearly, Illinois and Missouri were not the first states we passed through on our journey, but we sacrificed spending time in some states/cities so that we could get to the ones that were top on our list!

The Gateway Arch was definitely something I wanted to see! Hunter saw it a few years ago while he was in Missouri and knew it was something I would want to add to the books! Because of the long hours ahead of us on this drive, we actually only stayed at the Gateway Arch for about 30 minutes, then headed on our way to see our friends in Kansas!

For some reason, I became really fascinated with all of the bridges we passed through on our trip.  You just don't see bridges like this in Georgia!

We stopped on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River to view The Gateway Arch because we read that this was the best viewing spot for pictures! This overlook was about 3 or 4 stories high, and it also had a webcam that projected a live feed on the web of The Gateway Arch. My mom was watching us from home and I took a screenshot from my phone from the webcam of Hunter and I on the overlook!

As we were driving away, we noticed how the flag set right in the middle of The Gateway Arch from the spot we were at!
